Frigomar BMEEA Product of the Year 2019
Frigomar’s new BLDC Variable Speed Inverter Drive air conditioning has been named Product of the Year 2019 at the annual British Marine Electrical & Electronics Association Conference.
Frigomar BLDC is not just a modification or enhancement to something that already exists; it is entirely new and ground breaking technology. Up until now, the traditional compressor in an air conditioning system needs a large amount of electrical energy each time a cooling cycle starts. Not only is this power hungry, it is also noisy. Frigomar air con is 50% more energy efficient and silent; it starts at a very slow speed with no peak current and as the room approaches temperature, it slows down, ensuring a constant, comfortable climate on board.
Not only will it revolutionise the world of boat building; in particular the consideration of power when specifying generator size, it makes it possible for vessels without a generator to run air conditioning silently from just a small inverter. In ECO mode these units draw no more than 200W, removing the need to run a generator and ensuring peace and quiet overnight.
